C- Square implements Sybase solution

C-Square Information Solutions is an
Indian-based software firm which helps pharmaceutical companies to
manage logistics of their distribution and retail operations. This
includes tracking the entire sales lifecycle of pharmaceutical
products from the manufacturer to the distributor as well as the
retailer and finally to the customer.

C-Square wanted to visualize the performance of the entire business
cycle in real time so that process improvements could be applied.

builder tool, Power Builder was used to create five applications-Live
Order, PharmAssist, PharmSoft, Ecogreen and Go4+. For example,
LiveOrder is an application that helps keep sales personnel connected
to their office and give them the ability to access information about
inventory status in near real time. This helps them with order
placements and allows the sales staff to commit confidently to
customers with accurate information.

LiveOrder runs on Sybase's SQL
Anywhere database platform which offers an embedded relational
database management system. In the pharmaceutical industry, with vast
number of objects to manipulate, it is mandatory to have an
object-oriented programming approach. The same situation dictates the
need for a relational database, which makes it much easier to
organize the data across all of the products that a pharmaceutical
company needs to track-sometimes as many as 75,000 products.
