Computer Associates (CA), is planning to launch an application called Secure Content Manager - designed to help enterprises in maintaining their e-mails and handling spam better. Secure Content Manager will be launched in the two weeks time. According to Pravir Arora, the country Head of Channels and Strategic Alliances for CA, the company will bring in more such products into the country as and when it feels the market is right.
To strengthen its presence with a portfolio of security products, CA is also increasing its channel base. "We presently have more than 50 active channel partners across the country who handle our storage, security and information management products. Most of these partners have been restricted to class-A cities. We think class-B cities present a good market opportunity and we want to increase our partners there," says
Pravir.
Declining to give actual numbers for the planned increase, Pravir states that numbers are not insignificant. "The need to integrate on the level of a business sense is most important," remarks he.
According to him, the company will target the SMB space with their enterprise management product -- Unicenter -- in the coming years.
"We believe that the small and medium businesses of the country are beginning to realize a need for enterprise management software. As we begin to address the market, we will study whether Unicenter can be brought into the resellers realm as well. So far, it has been handled completely by our SI partners; but if we think it adds value to the resellers and helps us reach the SMB market better, we will think of having a reseller distribution model as well," explains
Arora.
