Speaking on the
significance of digital signage, Vikas Bansal, Director-Carrier
Sales, (India and South Asia), Cable &Wireless said that it could
facilitate multiple needs of communications, including retail and
public displays as well as in-house corporate communication. “Dynamic
content can be created, which can be changed instantly and this
technology combines digital screen with analytics software,” said
Bansal. It can be monitored and managed remotely through a central
warehouse, and linked with IP-based CCTV. Cisco has already come up
with Cisco Digital Signs which is built around its Digital Media
Suite that allows interoperability with hardware.
