Samsung Electronics India Information & Telecommunication Ltd (SEIIT)
announced the launch of PCs under the "buildURpc" brand. This
initiative is a commercial extension of Samsung’s K2C (knowledge-2-customer)
site where a customer is empowered to build a PC to suit his needs. These PCs
will be assembled by and made available through SEIIT’s excise registered
system integrators.
Samsung
is providing PC kits to its assembler and distributor partners and these PCs are
customized to meet the needs of customers within a flexible budget limit.
Customers will also have the option of configuring and buying via www.buildurpc.com.
The company also announced the setting up of a nationwide network of call
centers for customers with the number – 9622010101. To promote the PCs, it is
tying up with financial institutions for financing schemes and will invest over
$1 million in educating the market for its buildURpc.com project.
JS Jong, Executive Director, SEIIT, stated, "This industry-first
initiative by us will give a different dimension to PC buying in the country
because now our customers can get a Samsung powered PC which suits the
individual’s professional/family needs.
