Canon’s DR 2080C document scanner

Canon has launched its DR 2080C (SCSI and USB standard) document scanner. The
DR-2080C is designed to support decentralized scanning applications that are
used by various industry segments ranging from government offices, logistics,
construction, healthcare, banking and finance and retail industry.

The DR 2080C bundled with the advanced Canon "Capture perfect"
packs in features like color scanning, fast grayscale and duplex scanning, high
resolution and scan to e-mail amongst others. Another feature is the ability to
generate searchable PDF files of documents "on the fly" while
scanning.

The DR-2080C scanner provides an optical resolution of 600 dpi with a 20 ppm
(pages per minute) scanning speed. In addition to its color capability, it has
grayscale and black-and-white duplex speeds of up to 40 images per minute. The
machine weighs a mere 2.5 kg and has a footprint of less than 30 x 10cm.

The scanner also has a user-friendly interface and is priced at Rs 80,000.
