Chirag launches laptop range

As part of its expansion plan, RP Infosystems, promoters of Chirag PC, has
launched a new range of laptops. Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee, Chief Minister,
Government of West Bengal launched the laptops in the presence of Chirag's brand
ambassador, Indian cricketer Sourav Ganguly.

The Chirag 'Power Play' range of laptops have been launched in five initial
models based on Intel Celeron, Dual Core and Core2 Duo platform and are priced
between Rs 23,990 to Rs 35,990. "Price is going to be our USP. All our
laptops come with latest features and configuration but we have kept the pricing
low as compared to our competitors," informed Probir Majumdar, VP-Sales and
Marketing, RP Infosystems.

The laptops will be marketed through its existing channel network across the
country. "We are in the process of appointing new partners in order to
increase our reach. Apart from channel sales our target will be corporate,
government sector and educational institutes," he further added. He also
mentioned that the main sales focus for laptops would be starting from JFM
quarter wherein the company is aiming to sell 2,000 units per month.

RP Infosystems has also proposed to start a 30 acres hardware SEZ in Baruipur,
West Bengal. The Rs 1,000 crore project is expected to begin in the next two
years and will be manufacturing motherboards, RAM, keyboards, cabinets, LCD
monitors, etc.
