CURRENT
IT INFRASTRUCTURE

Our current infrastructure is sufficient to support the business growth. We
have a network of 650 PCs, 43 servers as well several printers and handheld
scanners. Most of the hardware has been bought from Compaq as this was an
operating expense deal that we had finalised directly with the vendor.

PROPOSED IT INFRASTRUCTURE FOR 2005-06

This is the year of consolidation. Thus we are bringing everything in a
centralized mode-the hardware as well as the application. Also, most
applications being developed for our requirements would be Web-based. We are
exploring the identity management framework, security, virtual private network
and backup as well as data recovery application development. Once we decide
which one is critical to our business processes, we will deploy it.

EXPECTED BUDGET FOR ABOVE

Though our budgeting starts in the second quarter of the year, estimates
would be anything between Rs 2.5 to Rs 3.0 crore. Also, we may come up with
special projects for wireless projects and we would have a separate budget for
the same.

CURRENT SYSTEMS SUPPLIER

We often deal directly with vendors, which ranges from HP, IBM, HCL, Zenith
and Dell. Our solution prividers include Landinfo, Bar Code India, CMS
Computers, HCL Infosystems and Team Computers.

QUALIFICATIONS OF SUPPLIER

While selecting our solution partners, we seek those companies that have a
national presence and the ability to manage the AMC with sufficient spares. It
is also imperative that they have well-defined service levels and measurement.
The partner should have a clear roadmap of technology directions as well
as  non-proprietary, quality products, that it can deliver on time.
