Citrix Online has added a new product to its portfolio of web-based online
tools. Called as GoToWebinar, this would enable up to 1,000 people to connect
and have an online meeting. Citrix Online already has a similar product called
GoToMeeting Corporate, which allows 25 memÂbers to connect for an online
meeting. “Like GoToMeeting, this service is also available at a very
attractive pricing and is being targeted at companies that are looking for
global expansion of their business. New features around web hosting would make
it very useful for large enterprises especially the BPOs, government and
education verticals,” said HR Shiever, MD-APAC, Citrix Online.
Launched globally on June 16 2006, GoToWebinar would be given free of cost to
organizations that opt for at least 10 GoToÂMeeting Corporate user accounts. In
addition to GoToÂWebinar, Citrix Online has made available a new insurance
program for users of its GoToMyPC portfolio. Focused on business continuity, the
program would enable companies to insure against work force disruption in the
event of strikes, natural disasters and illnesses. “Targeted at people rather
than infrastructure, the insurance would help employees to remotely access their
desktop in the event that they are unable to go to their place of work.

The insurance comes at a one time fee of $39 per year and organizations
would need to insure a minimum of 100 PCs at a time,” indicated Shiever. “We
believe that any mid-size organization that needs to ensure business continuity
could benefit from this policy. We are in conversation with a few organizations
- financial institutions and BPOs in order to see how best they could benefit
from this. I think sectors like education and healthcare could also look at the
option,” he added.
Indicating that web collaboration has a huge growth potential globally,
Shiever said that Citrix Online is looking to grow its customer base in India
and also looking at forging new partnerships. “Given that India is a big
outsourcing hub, we believe that our products fit very well into the Indian
market. We are looking at tapping the opportunities for expansion both
geographically as well as vertically here,” he added.
Incidentally, Citrix Online, which runs a referral partner model, has just begun
the new advocate partner model and is looking to sign up new partners for this.
“This is an invitation program for companies with similar synergies with us
and we are looking to partner with people who can dedicate resources, understand
the model and build business around it,” said Shiever while adding that Citrix
would take the financial risk and also involve in deal closures.
