Cloud expansion is key to Red Hat and Cisco deal

Red Hat has collaborated with Cisco in India. The collaboration has come at a time when Indian market is increasingly moving towards cloud computing. Hence, the deal will prove beneficial for both the parties.

The combination of Red Hat's open-source solutions and Cisco technology has delivered innovative solutions to customers earlier also enabling them to achieve greater IT efficiencies.

Red Hat will be showcasing technology solutions on Cisco platforms, which include OpenShift, OpenStack-powered clouds for advanced cloud users, such as telecommunications companies, Internet service providers (ISPs), and public cloud hosting providers.

Dirk-Peter van Leeuwen, senior VP and GM, Red Hat Asia-Pacific, said, "Cisco and Red Hat have announced a number of collaborations over the past year, and we believe that our collaborative efforts can drive even greater innovation in India for our customers and communities. We hope that with the opening of the Center of Excellence, more IT professionals, students and communities can participate in open-source development and be part of creating de facto multi-vendor standardization to build modern data centers of the future."

Cisco and Red Hat share a common view and approach towards next-generation IT architectures, and the new Center of Excellence in India shows mutual commitment to collaborate to deliver industry-defining solutions for the open hybrid cloud.
