Samir Dhingra, CEO, Netspider offers NIC Cloud solutions to the government entities. Here he talks about his business growth in 2021 to us. Cloud solutions have gradually become very important. Now, even the government departments are going for it. Especially after the digitisation programme of the Central government, there has been a drive to go for the Smart technologies. During lockdown, Cloud solutions rose in demand.

What was the revenue growth % of your business in 2021?

Samir - In 2021 we faced and met many challenges and we resolved them successfully. Our revenue growth was 20%.

What % of this revenue growth came from Cloud solutions?

Samir - Since we primarily offer Cloud solutions from the NIC to the government entities, most of our revenue growth came from the Cloud segment. It touched 90% in 2021. NIC offer Cloud solutions which we implement for our govt clients.

What aspects of Cloud segments were most in demand in the last year?

Samir - With the remote work coming in vogue and after this phase, hybrid work environment also catching up, it was important to install Cloud solutions in diverse situations. Many clients still prefer partly on-premise and partly off-premise solutions. Hence, Hybrid Clouds were the most preferred solutions in demand in the Cloud segment. With the lockdown, Cloud solutions became important and the government departments began to adopt it as a precautionary measure of necessity. Hybrid is the most preferred solution because it offers flexibility of locale of data transfer and data management.

What % of your clients came from the non-metro areas and from the MSME sector?

Samir - We have 100 % Govt Clients. We exclusively install NIC Cloud solutions for the government departments. Hence, our clientele figures for non-metro areas and from the MSMEs were zero, as we don't work in these segments.
