CMDA gears up for 12th IT Expo

Mumbai: Pune-based Computers and Media and Dealers Association (CMDA) is planning

to hold several activities in order to ensure the success of its 12th

IT expo being held at College of Engineering ground from

11-13 Dec While the expo offers some discounts to the CMDA members,

the non-members will also get an opportunity to be a part of the

activities and acquire information around changing technology as well.

Sharing information around the activities Shashikant Sathbhai,

Convenor for the expo, pointed, "We are planning to hold several

programs during the expo that have been framed keeping in mind the

latest technologies and trends evolving in the IT industry. While the

event will commence with a CIO Conference, wherein leading CIO's of

renowned companies are going to attend the event and talk about

upcoming technologies and latest trends emerging in the IT industry.

There will be several interactive sessions on promoting Green IT as



CMDA is also planning to conduct several technical seminars during the expo. "Generally we use to hold around two seminars every day during the

expo but this time around we have resolved to conduct as many as three

seminars each day. Several important topics including career

opportunities for students, programs on cybercrimes and cyber laws,

program to create awareness around Linux and some other programs in

networking will be covered during the expo."

On Dec 13,  an award night will be held to recognize and felicitate

winners in various categories. Some of the categories include best

design stall, good marketing executive, innovative product displayed

during the expo among others.

Another of CMDA's activity will see the association lay thrust on

promotion of environmental awareness-working to make IT green. This

program will be aimed at generating awareness amongst the IT users

wherein they will be given several tips on power saving techniques,

reducing paper work, carbon footprint and making the overall

environment green. The same program will later be organized for CMDA

members as well.
