The 12th Computers and Media Dealers Association (CMDA) IT Expo held at the
College of Engineering Ground in Pune witnessed over one lakh footfall from the
end customers and channel partner community within the city. The event held from
Dec 11-14 was inaugurated by Mahesh Zagade, Commissioner, Pune Corporation,
while the Guest of Honor was Rajendra Dahale, DCP, Crime.
As many as 115 stalls were put up during the expo that saw participation from
vendors, including HP, Lenovo, Microworld, Trend Micro, Intex, Quick Heal, AOC,
Xerox, Lexmark, Matrix, Moser Baer, Sony, Nvidia, Cartridge Express, Abbeefill,
LG, Cubix, Toshiba, Acer, Supertron, Cooler Master, and Emerson among others.
According to CMDA authorities, the expo helped in generating several orders for
participants and has resulted in yielding sales amounting to approximately Rs 2
crore.
While inaugurating the expo, Zagade upheld the idea of Hardware Park and
assured to help CMDA in getting government support. He appealed CMDA to design a
mall based on international standards. He expressed his satisfaction over
professional working of CMDA and applauded it for getting ISO 9001:2000
certification.
On the other hand, Dahale expressed that CMDA should be a part of the Cyber
Crime Prevention Forum, as the Police department always requires help from
industry experts to trap cyber criminals.
Giving a brief insight about CMDA, Naresh Lalwani, President, CMDA elaborated
about the association's initiatives for members and society. Shashikant Satbhai,
VP and Convener, CMDA IT Expo explained the idea behind promoting 'Working to
make IT green' theme during the expo.
