Mumbai: CommVault has entered into a partnership with Informatica, a data integration provider, to deliver a fully integrated archiving solution. It would extend support to databases and applications, including Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, DB2, SAP, PeopleSoft, Siebel and other custom or legacy applications. This new technology partnership will enable easy and efficient archiving of large databases from mission-critical business applications, such as CRM and ERP systems, to better streamline eDiscovery and improve database space management.
As a result, Simpana software would help reduce the size of large databases to achieve a significant improvement in application performance. It will also minimize the time and costs associated with performing different tasks, including backup, recovery, replication and routine application upgrades.
For eDiscovery and the search of structured data, the software can also simplify the identification, collection and processing of evidence from structured data sources.
“The combination of CommVault and Informatica technology will help global organizations gain greater control over data growth by ensuring robust database archiving as well as seamless access to archived data,” said Adam Wilson, GM-Information Lifecycle Management, Informatica. “Together, we can improve application performance, support regulatory compliance and retire legacy applications safely and cost-effectively. Together, our two companies can help organizations achieve bottomline business benefits such as saving money and resources by more effectively managing their data,” he added.
“Our partnership with Informatica further extends CommVault's global storage management strategies to ensure that database archiving can be managed as easily as file, and email archiving using automated policies,” said Simon Taylor, Senior Directorm-Information Access Management, CommVault. He further added, “As a result, CommVault provides a breadth of archiving capabilities while leveraging a single platform for additional cost savings, improved information access and operational efficiencies.”
