Singapore-based Compex Systems, a global brand in networking space, is making a comeback in the market. Once a leading brand in India, Compex went down in the marketshare when its distribution alliance turned sour here. "Now, we are revisiting the market and hope to have a great innings this time round. We are very bullish about the Indian market and it is growing at a phenomenal pace. Compex will focus mainly on wireless solutions for growth,” said Chen Mun, President, Compex Systems
For customers, Compex is not a new brand, which is known for its quality and reliable solutions. Chen further added that together, Compex and Rashi Peripherals will be the winning pair in the market.
Compex has actually made some progress (comeback) in the market after signing Mumbai-based Rashi Peripherals as its distributor two years back. “Presently, the company has gained up to 8% marketshare, from almost 2%-3%, two years back. Rashi is seeing Compex as a value-brand and its products are technically superior and competitive with any other brand in the market. Our business relationship is also strong and professional, and we see a win-win opportunity for both the companies," said Rajesh J Goenka, Divisional Head, Rashi Peripherals.
The disty is presently managing a channel network of 480 partners to distribute Compex products across the country. These include the 80 Tier-1 partners who act as Master Stockists and 400 Tier-2 partners who take the product to the market, up to the end-user level. "Compex is more committed to the channels and looking at increasing the number of Tier-2 partners from 400 to 600, in the next one year. It will meanwhile increase the focus on ISPs also, who will work as system integrators for Compex in the customers' place," said Rajesh. "All the channel initiatives for Compex will be driven by Rashi Peripherals."
Compex offers both wired and wireless solutions in networking and is more focused on the professional market in business. "We have long-distance outdoor solutions, which can work up to a radius of 15 kilometers. We also offer both point-to-point and point-to-multi-point solutions. Our major target audience is hospitality industry and service providers in other public utility places," said Chen. Compex products offer outstanding features such as pseudo-LAN, power over Ethernet and complete wireless distribution system, among others.
Presently, Compex is making a revenue of $1 million from India, while the global revenue is $30 million. Out of this, US contributes 25%, Europe 40%, Asia 30% and the remaining 5% from Africas and rest of the countries.
