The edition was jointly unveiled by Amar Babu, GM (Channels), Intel; Raj Saraf, CMD, Zenith Computers; PG Kamath, Country GM, Lexmark; Devang Shah, Administrative Director, CMDA Mumbai; Gul Phagwani, President, TAIT; and Umang Mehta, Committee Member, TAIT. Nearly 200 leading channel partners, distributors as well as vendors were present at the launch.

Speaking on the occasion, Shyam Malhotra, Editor-in-chief, Cyber Media Publications, said, "Considering the vast community of resellers in the western region, we decided it was high time that we came out with the publication that would act as an interface between them and the vendors." He added, "Keeping in mind that the Delhi and Chennai editions of The DQ Week have been huge successes, we also expect the Mumbai edition to reach similar heights."

Phagwani said that the channel fraternity has now got a voice in the form of The DQ Week, which was much needed in this region. "It is definitely going to serve the purpose of resellers."

The Chennai and the Delhi editionsstarted in September 1996 and August 1997 respectively--of The DQ Week reach out to almost 5,000 and 9,000 resellers respectively every week. And with the inception of its Mumbai edition, The DQ Week as a whole would cater to the needs of around 19,000 resellers all across the country week after week.
