Addressing the importance of service, networking major, D-Link, will set up multi-location component level servicing within the country. Prabodh Vyas, Director  Sales, D-Link India Ltd, says, "We have always emphasized on service as an integral part of our business objective and that's why we are going to increase focus towards providing service at the component level for high-end products such as modems, NICs, motherboards and managed switches."Â
Component level servicing would mean that customers at locations such as Hyderabad or Chennai will not be required to send their products to Mumbai or Delhi. Service for these products will be provided within their city itself.Â
The company recently started two centers at Delhi and Mumbai for component level service of its product range, and by the end of 2003, is planning to add Hyderabad, Chennai, Ahmedabad and Kolkata to this list. "We think that these are the places where bulk of our business takes place and our customer-base is increasing daily. All our dealers provide front-end support at the end-customer level and with the help of this initiative, they will be in a better position to address servicing needs of our customers," he explains.
The company is also organizing NetIPVision 2003 Â a series of seminars and reseller meets in over 20 B and C class cities. These meets will be held in the month of August in the following cities: Rohtak, Ambala, Jammu, Srinagar, Agra, Dehradun, Delhi, Rohtak, Hissar, Meerut, Haldwani, Muradabad, Gorakhpur, Bareilly, Ganganagar, Bhilwara, Kota, Bikaner, Dharamshala, Jalandhar, Amritsar, Hoshiarpur, Patiala. The new range of metro routers and multi service access routers will be displayed and demonstrated during these seminars.
