"As a woman, society did not have too many expectations from me, but my family certainly did. And growing up, I too put a lot of pressure on myself because they had dreams for me. Now, it's fun being a woman CEO. I don't want to be a man! And I can safely say that a man's world is not a bad place. Your reputation is built on your knowledge. And even if I am in a man's world and 80% of my team is men, my heads of finance, marketing and corporate sales are women who make the guys sweat." says Devita with a lovely smile

5% of working women in India have made it to senior leadership positions, which is much lower than the global average of 20%. "There is no doubt that there are more Indian women leaders in business than ever before, thanks to the resilience and enterprising sprit we as women display, breaking the glass ceiling and making it to the pole position." says Devita.

Advice to working women

Devita would like to be a role model to young Indian women. "We have to fight the conservative approach. I want to be able to prove that you can educate your daughters and make them your business successors. It will make them independent and be good for the country. That sense of feminine power is inspirational to me because it is beauty mixed with power. That's what women should aspire to attain." says Devita with crystal clear views on women being independent.
