Mumbai: Embarcadero Technologies, provider of cross-platform database tools,
has announced its plans to expand its presence in India by signing a
distribution agreement with Mumbai-based Softcell Technologies.

Softcell will offer the complete range of Embarcadero's cross-platform
database management products, including ER/Studio, EA/Studio, DBArtisan, Rapid
SQL, change manager and DSAuditor. Embarcadero's range of data modeling and
data architecture tools enable businesses to improve productivity and reduce
complexity when designing applications on market-leading databases such as
Oracle, Sybase, Microsoft SQL Server, DB2 and MySQL.

In an effort to grow its business by offering more end-to-end solutions,
Softcell sees this distribution agreement as an opportunity to strengthen its
presence in the enterprise and mid-market corporate segment. "We view
Embarcadero's market strength as something that we can build upon, given the
current business environment," said Rahul Ursekar, National Manager-Sales,
Softcell. "By distributing Embarcadero's product line, we get the ability to
offer our customers a complete solution from the infrastructure and database. We
are confident that this addition to our portfolio will help us further
strengthen our understanding of the IT needs of our clients."
