Epson launches home photo printing solution

Epson has announced the launch of Epson Stylus Photo 830U, a home photo printing solution. Besides photo printing, the printer can also create
ultra-sharp black text documents for personal correspondence, school projects and assignments. It is priced at Rs 6,999 (plus local taxes). 

The EPSON Stylus Photo 830U features a top resolution of 5760x 720 optimized dpi and six-color inks. In addition, the printer offers BorderFree printing
up to A4. It also incorporates Epson Print Image Matching (P.I.M.) II technology and EXIF Print (including EXIF Print 2.21) for optimal photo
print quality.

The Epson Stylus Photo 830U delivers photo and document printing at 14ppm for black text and 13.7ppm for color. According to the press release,
featuring its patented Variable Sized Droplet Technology (VSDT) and a 4pl ink droplet, print
speed performance is optimized. VSDT allocates different ink droplet sizes by distinguishing between large or small swathes
of color and assigning the appropriate sized droplet to speed up the printing process.

Epson Stylus Photo 830U is bundled with Epson's photo utility, PhotoQuicker 3.4 and Print Image Framer (P.I.F.) Tool, a
software that lets users add pre-constructed album frames, calendars, photo borders and more to their
pictures. 

EPSON has also bundled the P.I.F. Designer software that allows users to design their own picture frames or modify existing
frames and apply them to their pictures. The printer is compatible with both Windows and Mac
platforms and connects to a PC through a USB port.
