Erode dealers IT Association (EdITA) will conduct their annual IT expo this August. The three-day event will take place from August 22-24. “The focus of the expo is to create awareness about IT and IT related products. There are lots of people in upcountry regions who aren't comfortable working on a computer. This exhibition would provide them a good platform for learning,” informed KP Muthuarasu, Project Chairman, EdITA Computer Exhibition.

For the first time Microsoft is joining hands with Erode association as co-sponsor of the event along with Samsung. Almost 50 stalls have been booked so far and the association is expecting further bookings. “Only 50 percent of our members have came forward for participation and we are waiting for few more people to join us. After that the stall count would increase considerably,” Muthuarasu claimed.

He also said that the expo would offer various discounts to end-users. “Usually only such offers and discounts draw huge crowds. Post the event we expect to get lots of calls for bookings and business will be really good for the next three months,” he informed. For the first time the association has planned to conduct seminars for the public. “Our district has lot of schools and colleges, and SMEs, corporate and government sector is huge. So the walk-ins will be enormous. We have proposed to conduct computer awareness programs on 23 and 24 for the benefit of the public,” Mutharasu informed.

The association will conduct different sessions that will interest the public. “There would be a session on semiconductors targeting the college students, a session on e-commerce, e-tax, Internet banking for professionals and one on convergence to increase the awareness of using convergence devices such as bluetooth, wireless etc,” informed Raja CSN, Spokesperson, EdITA.

He also said that through the expo they would create awareness about original software. “Many users till date feel that they should get software free of cost, which is ridiculous. All the dealers in Erode are only dealing with OEMs and we will encourage users to use original software only. This time Microsoft has joined hand with us. We will take their help and educate customers on the benefits of going for original operating system,” Raja averred.
