With what mission and objectives, the company was set up? In short, tell us about your journey since the inception of the company?

At Scalenut, we are trying to help users create better content at scale. Our idea has been to build the right set of technology solutions that would help our users create research-backed high-quality content. 

We started by building the managed services marketplace in Dec 2020. There we worked with 100s of businesses across the world. In Sep '21 we launched our SaaS offering, both for our end users as well as freelancers. Idea is to empower the creators as well as brands with the right set of technology tools and make the process much more efficient.

What we have is the next-gen AI-powered platform for content research and content creation. Within 2 months of our product launch, we have got over 1500 paying users from 50+ countries. 

Tell us how your company is contributing to the IoT/AI industry of the nation and how the company is benefiting the clients.

AI in the content creation space is going through a massive evolution. 2020 was the defining year followed by the rise of various start-ups in this space in 2021. There are very few players building from India, for the world. We are one of the leading players.

Our AI product automates content research and content creation process. It helps businesses to scale their content with ease. Their teams are able to cut down the research time from hours to minutes. Similarly, writing is 10x faster.

We are in parallel helping thousands of freelance content creators to improve their efficiency. Asia, specifically India, is one of the leading geographies for us when it comes to independent content creators. 

Kindly mention some of the major challenges the company has faced till now.

This is a very new space. Businesses are still adopting new technology. One of the major challenges is product awareness amongst users.

Second, hiring has been a challenge, specifically in the AI and NLP domains.

How do you see the company and the industry in the future ahead?

We will continue to build the right set of technology solutions for both individual content creators and end businesses. There are various things that are in the pipeline for 2022. In the end, we aim to become a de-facto platform for content creation. 

The industry will continue to grow very rapidly here. One, a lot of new technologies are coming in. Second, users are becoming more and more aware. Over the next 2-3 years, the way content is created will completely change. We aim to lead from the front there.

How is Natural Language Processing (NLP) shaping the content industry today? How is it changing the role of CIOs and Leaders?

Again, this is an evolving field with a lot of new solutions. NLP is deployed in various use cases in content, right from identification of what to write to the actual writing process. With the help of NLP, one can technically create accurate content that’s specific to your brand, with ease.

technology space?

Over the last few months, we have been able to automate processes like content research and actual writing. Earlier, it would take hours to carry out in-depth research and now all it takes is a click of a button. Using NLP and AI, we give users the right direction before they start creating content. This is one of the strengths of the product.

Second, we have built various layers in our AI writer that help you get much relevant output at a much faster pace.

We are now working on some very interesting solutions. I think the next 6 months will be very exciting.

Which industry verticals are you currently focusing on? And what is your go-to-market strategy for the same?

We are an industry-agnostic platform. Content is something everyone needs. However, we are currently focussing on international geographies like the US. In addition, our current focus is to empower individual content creators and small and medium businesses.

How can AI make a difference in this field? Please elaborate

AI can be leveraged for pretty much anything here. It can help automate planning, research, creation as well as distribution. At Scalenut, we have started with leveraging AI for research and writing automation. As we go forward, we are looking forward to using AI in various other areas in the content lifecycle.

How Saas has evolved its content space?

Like a lot of other areas, various SaaS solutions have come in the content space as well. One issue is that it’s a very fragmented market. There are various solutions addressing different issues. There is a lack of holistic solutions that cover the entire content lifecycle. We aim to bridge that gap.
