The pandemic has permanently altered the way we work, driving millions of people to work from home in the previous year. And, while there will always be opportunities for adjusting, we've now arrived at a moment when firms aren't only adapting to remote work but are also beginning to figure out how to make remote work permanent for part or all of their employees. The Indian government has advocated allowing service sector workers to work from home, and several major corporations have officially adopted the hybrid workplace concept.
"Hybrid work" is the new word being used to characterize this unique working style. Employers would allow employees to continue working from home to some extent while also maintaining their workplace. Time will tell how these hybrid work arrangements pan out and whether more companies will follow suit, which many experts believe will happen. Here are five companies that have permanently adopted the hybrid workplace concept: -
1) Google: Sundar Pichai, the CEO of Google and Alphabet, said that the firm would adopt a new working paradigm in which employees can work from the office as well as from any place throughout a given week. Sixty percent of the staff are expected to report to the office on occasion, while the others will be allowed to work from home.
2) Amazon: Amazon, one of the major e-commerce companies, has set a policy for remote working for its employees. Employees whose jobs allow them to work from home will be able to do so beginning in June 2021. The corporation employs approximately 92,000 people worldwide. Customer, Service associate, Economist-Advertisement Finance, and Customer Support Associate are some of the remote jobs available at the organization.
3) Infosys: Infosys is an Indian multinational technology firm headquartered in Bangalore, India. It was formed in 1981. The company provides IT services and IT consulting and is India's second-largest IT consulting firm. The company employs about 2 lakh people. Infosys has stated that they will allow between 33 and 50 percent of their staff to work from home indefinitely. Some of the company's recent remote positions include Underwriting Manager and Post Closer Process Associate.
4) Microsoft: Microsoft is a software firm established in the United States as well as an international technology corporation. The company was created in 1975 and is headquartered in New Mexico, United States. The corporation has stated that their staff is permitted to work from home for approximately half of their workweek. Even supervisors are given the authority to approve remote work for their employees.
5) Facebook: Facebook is a social networking platform established in the United States that was founded in 2004 and had over 2 billion daily active users. They provide global service, and the forum is available in about 11 languages. The corporation has stated that it will allow nearly half of its staff to work remotely indefinitely. Technical program manager and product designer are two recent remote careers.
