Fortinet organized a four-city partner meet in the country, which concluded
in New Delhi. Patrice Perche, Regional VP, Fortinet visited India for the first
time to interface with the channel and address core issues facing them as well
as their customers. Vishak Raman, Country Manager-India, Fortinet accompanied
him. Fortinet also used these events to educate partners about the technical
aspects of its products and also divulged its marketing strategies with them. A
live demo of its latest product-FortiGate-224B, was provided. This product was
launched in January globally and Fortinet introduced it in the Indian market at
the channel event.
The FortiGate-224B delivers clientless access security control that enforces
network policies without requiring special end-user software agents. It features
4.4Gbps layer 2 switch performance, 150Mbps firewall throughput, 24x 10/100
switch ports and two 10/100 WAN ports. "With its combined full-featured LAN
security and multi threat protection, Fortinet customers will be able to tackle
the security and administration challenges that typical NAC solutions claim to
do, but fail," said Perche.
