Fuji Xerox unveils mDoc for handheld devices

Mobile users can now access documents that reside on an enterprise server,

personalize email attachments such as forms and contracts, and email, fax or

print these documents while they are on the move. "mDoc represents our

commitment to improving the technology available to the mobile workforce,"

said Debby Chan, Marketing Director at Fuji Xerox Hong Kong. "It is an

ideal solution for mobile devices, particularly mobile phones. Business

executives, who need to access information at the right time, in the right

format, wherever they are, will find mDoc of immense help."

Users can access documents such as contracts and invoices, personalise them

with specific customer information, and then print, email or fax these documents

at their chosen destination, dramatically improving their response time and

strengthening customer relationships.

mDoc increases the utility and portability of corporate documents, helping

users shorten response time to customer requests from days or hours to just

minutes.

The software also eliminates time and distance barriers with 24-hour, secure

access to all documents, enabling the mobile workforce to maximise productivity,

offering access to key documents during ‘gap time’, such astime spent in

airport lounges, in traffic congestion, or at a customer’s office.

Costs for mobile workers, in both time and money, can also be reduced, as

trips back to the office to look up information or pick up marketing collaterals

are no longer required. The need for expensive laptop computers is also

eliminated.
