Gigabyte launches Intel-based entry-level motherboards

Gigabyte has brought out two P4-based motherboards targeted at the entry-level market. Priced at Rs 3,100, the GA-8I845GV is powered by the Intel 845GV/ICH4. The GA-8S650GXM-P motherboard has the SIS 650GX/962L chipsets and come for Rs 2,900. 

According to the company, these motherboards deliver a new architecture to uplift the system performance to achieve optimum processor performance. 

The GA-8I845GV supports Intel's latest HyperThreading technology (HT) and Prescott processors. The GA-8S650GXM-P incorporates an AGP 4X slot, which delivers an enhanced gaming experience. 

The other features of these platforms include DDR 333 and P-IV 3 GHz processor with FSB 533 MHz, supports latest P-IV and provides optimized FSB setting. These devices also support DDR 333/266 up to 2 GB memory, USB 2.0 interface, with data transfer rate up to 480 Mbps, integrated high-quality 6-channel AC97 audio, on-board 10/100 Mbps Ethernet LAN connectivity, EasyTune 4 overclocking utility and Norton Internet Security.
