Global Edge Software to offer ASIC design service

Bangalore-based Global Edge Software, specializing in embedded system services, has announced the addition of ASIC design service to its portfolio of service offerings. The latter offers the entire range of ASIC development services and IP-related services for power ASIC designs. As part of IP development, Global Edge and US-based Onyx Semiconductor Solutions have entered into a partnership and have announced the availability of two jointly developed Intellectual Property (IP) blocks, the OY6100 and OY5100.

Announcing this, MP Kumar, CEO, Global Edge Software, said, “This is a milestone for the Analog ASIC Design Group at Global Edge. Currently we are jointly developing other IP blocks with Onyx Semiconductors.” 

“These IP blocks will reduce power consumption in consumer electronic devices like PDA, cellular mobile and gaming devices. They would form building blocks for System On Chip (SOC) and help semiconductor vendors in reducing Time to Market” added Kumar.

Said Sunvir Gujral, President of Onyx Semiconductor, “We are pleased to have partnered with Global Edge to jointly develop the IP Blocks OY6100 and OY5100. These are the first in the series of IP blocks that Onyx Semiconductor and Global Edge Software have partnered to develop for the on-chip power regulation and RF markets.”
