Mumbai-based Globsyst Technologies is ready to market E-Resource, an ERP application based on the framework of its
earlier product called Resource.
While Resource was only a business accounting system, E-Resource is a complete ERP package.
Globsyst has successfully implemented E-Resource at few customer sites, which includes insurance, logistics and engineering companies located
globally and locally. Now, the company is looking for channel partners who can market and implement E-Resource across the country.
Unlike other vendors, who sell their ERP packages on per-user or per-server
basis, E-Resource is sold on location basis. The basic package is available at Rs 5 lakh per location and can vary depending on the requirements.
"The advantage that we have with E-Resource is that our ERP solution works
almost like a real-time system without the need for having an always-online
network, at a much lower cost than that of a real-time system," says Sudheer
Nair, Director, Globsyst.
E-Resource can be customized to suite any verticals and can be installed at the customer's place within one
calendar month. According to Sudheer, within two years E-Resource will be ready
to fight the big boys like SAP and JD Edwards in the ERP market. Resource itself was more than an accounting package. Similarly, E-Resource has
lot more than what others have. It is feature-rich and works on a unique architecture," says Ravindra R Surve, MD,
Globsyst.
Globsyst has worked on all the modules that a typical ERP comprises, but the basic package does not include all of them. "Though we have all the
modules ready, we have not included them, because customers typically use only 40%
features of any ERP solutions. We give them only the required modules which
will be used," justifies Sudheer.
