Google Fiat Partnership

Google is taking interest in partnering with automatic car technology.

It is reported that Google has advanced far into negotiations with Fiat's automatic car partnership as a part of this venture. Contrary to the popular misconception in India, automatic cars are not merely about not pressing the clutch pedal while driving. They use an advanced software to drive the car smoothly through different traffic conditions. Hence, it makes sense that automatic car makers partner with IT companies such as Google.

FCA CEO Sergio Marchionne says that automatic car makers must consider partnerships with other automakers and tech giants like Apple and Google. Google is in advances stage of negotiations with Fiat Chrysler.

Fiat has considered Tesla and Apple before negotiating with Google, which is already negotiating with other car makers as well.

The race for making advanced automatic cars has gone much faster than predicted earlier and Fiat has been lagging behind in this race.

There are also instances of other partnerships between car makers and IT companies.
