HCL inaugurates second DigiLife store in Kolkata

Kolkata:  In an effort to enhance their Digital lifestyle retail
presence in Kolkata HCL Infosystems launched their second new-age concept store
called as HCL DigiLife in the city. The 1000 square feet shop located at the
heart of the IT hub of central Kolkata aims to offer complete digital solution
under one roof and will display entire products range of HCL and Toshiba, Nokia
handsets, digital camera, video camcorders and iPods.

"HCL DigiLife is our nest generation retail offering for all
customers," said Rajendra Kumar, Executive VP, Frontline, HCL Infosystems.
The store has been opened in joint partnership with HCL and its partner Computer
Gallery. "Since the world is shifting towards retail I was planning to
enter into the retail business. This opportunity provided me the platform to
start off my first retail venture," said Praveen Puglia, Director, Computer
Gallery.

The store will focus more on the multimedia and entertainment gaming PC
series from its Beanstalk range as well as laptops. "The way convergence is
taking place today and people are shifting towards lifestyle products this store
will act as a perfect stop for the gizmo freaks wherein they can drop to
experience our product ranges," remarked Kumar.

Currently HCL has about 35 DigiLife stores across India and the company has
plans to open another hundred by this financial year. In eastern India HCL is
aiming to set up around fifty odd DigiLife stores. Presently there are two
stores in kolkata and one in Jamshedpur, which are operational. Apart from that
three more in Kolkata and one each in Guwahati, Siliguri and Bhubaneswar is
expected to get operational within next quarter.
