Continuing its efforts to reach out to customers, HCL Infosystems has
initiated a program to conduct roadshows jointly with their partners in 40
cities across the country. The event started in March and will continue till May
31, 2002. The main product showcased in the roadshow are Pentium 4-based
Beanstalk machines running on Windows XP.
HCL handpicked 103 partners across the 40 cities and trained them to position
the product correctly and address customer queries. These partners then
submitted a business plan covering aspects like venue, target audience,
activities planned and how they intend to maximize recall during the event.
"The exercise was to ensure that creativity is best used to achieve
business objectives," said Rajan Rahi, Sr Manager - Marketing, HCL
Infosystems.
However, the company has not set for itself a number target for PC sale
during the event. "The idea is to trigger a greater number of purchase
decisions at the event," said Rajan. It is for this reason that the events
will be held at community platforms.
"We will hold them in places like
schools, offices and so on," informed he.
HCL officials driving the event are also looking at it as an exercise to seed the market in slow times and build stronger and more profitable relationships with their channel.
