HCL Technologies is expected to invest nearly 1000 crore ($250 million) in
the HCL technology hub. The 46-acre facility will have 2 million sq. ft of space
for 15000 professionals developing technologies for the future; and generate
revenues in excess of $1 billion annually. This hub will have 'green' buildings,
compliant with international standards in energy efficiency, safety and
security.

Speaking about it Shiv Nadar, Founder - HCL, said - "We shall be
extending such technology hubs beyond large cities, to the tier II cities of
Nagpur, Madurai and Lucknow; taking technology to where the talent is".

The HCL technology hub infrastructure is designed as per 'green' building
norms and some of its prominent features include efficient use of water, energy
efficient and eco friendly equipment, effective use of landscape and effective
control and building management systems. The landscape includes water bodies, a
large lake and lots of green - all of which combined take up almost 65 - 70
percent of the total space. Keeping employee welfare in mind, a gym is planned
to be equipped with latest and hi-tech health and fitness equipment and a
multi-cuisine cafeteria is designed to provide a variety of food.
