HCL unveils Beanstalk Neo desktop

HCL Infosystems has partnered with Microsoft and Intel to introduce Beanstalk
Neoa device offering TV, DVD, MP3 player, radio, gaming and internet tools at a
single go.

It was developed using the Microsoft Windows XP Media center operating system
and Intel's hyper threading technology.

The new combo device priced at Rs 99,990 comes with a 17-inch flat LCD
display system and an integrated digital entertainment systema MP3/CD player
with a surround system, live radio and television. It also has wireless and
broad-band ready Internet connectivity.

The Beanstalk Neo offers a single unified interface for pausing and rewinding
live TV and radio, recording entire TV series, share digital photos, videos, and
DVDs and acts like a jukebox. It has a wireless keyboard and mouse, built-in TV
tuner, DVD and CD player/recorder, MP3 capability, an FM radio, gaming tools, a
photo editor and a Web browser.

The machine can create, edit, store and screen digital home movies and
photos. It is equipped with an Intel Pentium IV 2.8 GHz with Hyper-Threading
technology, 800 MHz FSB and Windows XP Media Center Edition 2004 operating
software, the most advanced OS for PCs in the Home segment.

It also offers five Microsoft games as well as 100 songs, five movies and 10
karaoke songs.
