HDS unveils universal storage platform for India

Hitachi Data Systems (HDS) unveiled its new universal storage platform for the Indian market. Hitachi TagmaStore, the universal storage platform is being targeted towards the high-end utility providers, banks, and the government segment.

"This platform is a combination of our advances in hardware and software, which are directed towards improving storage efficiency and significantly reduces the TCO for enterprise storage," explained PP Subramanian, India Country Manager, at HDS India. 

The platform is aimed at delivering large-scale storage virtualization of up to 32 petabytes across heterogeneous storage systems.

"This platform has the software capabilities to perform logical partitioning of internal and external storage resources. It supports a new operational paradigm capable of delivering a holistic application, optimized storage approach across an enterprise," Subramanian added.

With the help of this platform, the company is going to provide seamless integration of storage equipment from vendors like IBM, Sun and EMC. "Our aim is to provide an easy approach towards meeting storage needs of a customer," informed HDS Asia Pacific Product Manager, NAS & SOIP, Steve Ng.
