New Delhi: Hitachi Data Systems Corporation announced it has named Jack Domme to serve as the company's CEO, and Minoru Kosuge has been promoted to the position of Chairman of Hitachi Data Systems. Domme, who was appointed COO in 2007, succeeds Kosuge who was appointed CEO in the same year. The new executive appointments are effective April 1, 2009.

It is a great honor to have the opportunity to build on the success and market position he helped the company achieve,” Domme. “We believe our strategy is taking hold particularly in these economically challenging times because we enable customers to maximize the investment value and efficiencies of their storage environments. I look forward to leading the company as we continue our expansion in key growth areas where we can leverage our leadership in storage and data virtualization, such as file and content services and modular storage,” he added.
Domme first joined Hitachi Data Systems in 2003 and has held a number of management positions at the company. Prior to his appointment as COO, Domme served as Executive VP-Global Solutions Strategy and Development responsible for product design, technical strategies and product management.
Prior to joining Hitachi Data Systems, Domme served as VP- product and sales engineering at Storage Networks, and was responsible for the company's strategic software planning and development. Domme started his career in IT at Hewlett Packard in 1987 where he led the company's Information Solutions and Services Division, Information Access Solutions Group, and Client-Server Product Group.
A 29-year veteran of Hitachi, Kosuge has held a number of positions in corporate and product strategy, IT management, logistics planning and operations. Prior to his position as CEO, Kosuge was COO of Hitachi Data Systems. He also served as Executive VP and Chief Storage Architect, collaborating with Hitachi Data Systems Global Sales and Hitachi's Disk Array Systems Division (RSD). From 2003 to 2005, Kosuge was division president of RSD, where he led his team in developing the pioneering Hitachi Universal Storage Platform.
