Hitachi introduces Travelstar 80GN HDD

Hitachi has launched Travelstar 80GN 2.5-inch HDDs for laptops. Available in
capacities from 80GB to 20GB, the drives have a rotational speed of 4200rpm and
are based on ATA-6 interface standard.

80GN offers high capacity and performance in the industry with a 80GB, 9.5mm
hard drive. It provides areal densities of up to 70Gbits/sq.inch, yielding up to
40GB of capacity per disk.

All 80GN models contain Fluid Dynamic Bearing motor technology for idle and
operating acoustic performance. Travelstar leverages latest laminated anti-ferromagnetically
coupled media, also known as "pixie dust" and provides operational
shock rating of up to 200Gs (2ms).

It also features drive noise suppression system.
