With its expanded pack of commercial printing business, the company is now focusing on green technologies and wishes to enhance its existing framework in the technology domain.

Paresh Shetty, Country Manager-Graphics and Imaging Business, HP said, “We are enhancing our focus in the East. With signs of economic recovery in the picture, we feel that we need to focus on this market particularly and are looking forward to enhance our consumer verticals.”

The company is targeting to expand across all verticals with its Eastern print pack 2009, which showcases its latest product offerings in the 'green' technology domain.“We are are focusing on emerging 'green' technologies and are incorporating the same with acquisitions of companies across the globe, especially in Israel. We have introduced latex printing technology and want to focus on similar patterns,” Shetty added.

Recently, in an official communication, HP has claimed that digital printing comprises of two percent of India's overall GDP, out of which 1.5 percent is HP's marketshare. The current market in India is largely dominated by conventional, offset printing, but there has been a significant shift towards digital printing over the last few years.

“We are looking forward to tapping into the digital printing segment, particularly in the East as the market is having a wide array of opportunities and presents a good scope for expansion in this segment,” Shetty said.

However, unlike moves by other companies in regard to expanding the channel base, Shetty suggested that HP, for the time being is not considering any expansion plans in its existing channel framework and is satisfied with its commitment with Trisita Corporation.
