As a sign of getting aggressive on its color laser printer business, HP India has launched a CIO (Color In Office) program for its channel partners. Under this program, the company would be forming an exclusive club of partners who are dedicated towards color laser printer business. Currently, though the company has only introduced this program in metro and other class-A cities, depending on the response, it also plans to take it to other B-class cities.
Explaining the rationale behind such a program, Sanjeev Wad, Country Manager-Commercial Channels, HP India, says, "Through our partners we want to send this message to corporate customers that in-house color laser printing can be a really cost- and time-effective option." He adds that under the CIO program the company would share technological insights, market directions and other useful information with partners.
While not disclosing the number of partners HP would be bringing into its fold under this program, Sanjeev adds, "The most essential criteria for a partner to join the CIO club is that he should be very aggressive at color laser business and have a good inroad in the corporate space." He further informs that HP would be investing quite a bit towards further skilling up the partner's workforce specializing in color laser business.
