HP introduced its ultra-portable 'black' photo printer - HP Photosmart A626
for the upcoming festive season. The printer is available at a price of Rs
7,999. The HP Photosmart A626 is targeted at home users and features a 4.8-inch
touch-sensitive screen. The printer also comes with a stylus pen that allows
users to personalize and edit photos with "virtual ink". In addition,
the printer's small size, built-in carrying handle and optional internal battery
enables consumers to share it anywhere and anytime.
Consumers can use the display with the printer's stylus to personalize photos
with over 200 creative elements including clipart graphics, frames and
pre-designed album pages. Personalizing and editing photos can be done without a
computer or additional design software. Photos can be read from memory cards
inserted into the printer's card slots, or from PictBridge compatible cameras
attached to the printer. Using the optional Bluetooth adapter, photos can also
be read from Bluetooth-enabled mobile phones by the printer.
"With the festive season round the corner, we at HP felt it is a good
opportunity to provide our consumers with a printer that can capture the special
moments of Dusserha, Eid and Diwali. We are very excited about our compact photo
printer range as the trend of personal photo printing is increasing with the
boom in image-capturing devices like mobile phones and digital cameras,"
said Vibhor Bansal, Country Category Manager - Personal Printing Products,
Imaging and Printing Group, Hewlett-Packard India Sales Pvt. Ltd.
The HP Photosmart A626 compact photo printer also features advanced
photo-editing capabilities. These include red eye removal, as well as black and
white, antique, and sepia photo treatments. The additional "metallicize"
and "solarize" photo enhancement options apply an abstract art look to
photos. There is even a "slimming" enhancement option. After editing
and personalization, photos can be saved back onto memory cards or printed as
5x7-inch or 4x6-inch borderless prints.
