HP posts 112% growth year-on-year in storage

HP India has announced that its share in the Indian storage market in Q3 has grown to 40.6%, according to figures released by IDC. HP, in fact, increased its market share by 19% over the same period last year. For the nine months ended September 2003, HP continued to maintain its leadership position with a market share of 40.5%.

According to IDC, HP leads the India storage market in SAN, overall tape business, tape automation and external RAID market. It shipped 2,80,597 gigabyte of storage in Q3 2003 (July-September), which is a growth of 112.2% year-on-year when compared to Q3, 2002 when it had shipped 1,32,240 gigabyte of storage. HP has shown a sequential growth of 12.3% over Q2 2003.

"HP's sustained market leadership is powerful proof that we continue to execute extremely well and deliver on our promises to customers," says HP India Marketing Manager-NSS Avijit Basu. "HP consistently retains market leadership by focusing on solutions that provide customers with an adaptive infrastructure for storage that is more controllable, resilient and extensible," he adds.
