HP has launched a new scheme for office automation and fax dealers to push their MFPs and LaserJet printers through two Delhi-based sub-distributors Vidur and Micro Max Technologies in the market. It will reward channel partners with four slabs categorized as Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum. “This scheme is valid till July 31, 2005 and applies on all models of LaserJet MFPs like 3015, 3020, 3030 and 3380,” explained Keshav Madhav of Vidur and Co.
In the Bronze category, with the purchase of five units of LaserJet MFPs, a 4255 laserjet printer will be bundled. 10 units of purchase will offer a 3015 model and two classifieds ads in any mainstream newspaper in the Silver category. In the Gold category, on purchasing 25 units, one gets a 3030 printer, an Asia tour and three classifieds ads also.
The last slab — Platinum includes 40 units to be purchased to offer two 3030 printers or one 3380 LaserJet, a trip to Europe and five classifieds ads as incentives. HP has just rolled out its street pricing at the program, but the purchase pricing will be informed by Shweta Pant, HP Sales Manager for Consumer Products. She will interact with dealers on a one-to-one basis and also provide the market operating pricing. Further, she will touch base with the end customers too.
Keshav informed that this scheme was launched for office automation dealers and will increase 100 more LaserJet printers in his business. He expects 35%-40% increase in MFPs sales in Delhi. Rajesh Gupta of Ostel Automation added, “HP is a good product and has great awareness in the market. The only apprehensions are its pricing and service warranty, which were not announced.”
Praveen Kumar, Regional Sales Manager Consumer Sales —IPG said, “The next promotion program of HP is intended to provide users of the older DMP inkjet technology an opportunity to upgrade to the most cost effective laser tech by providing them a Rs 1,500 buyback price for their old printers on purchase of an HP laser jet 1010 model.
