HP is planning to appoint around 20 exclusive resellers to promote its recently launched PhotoSmart printers, namely PS145, PS7960, PS7660 and PS7260. The printers have already been dispatched to the three HP distributors -- Tech Pacific, Ingram Micro and Redington -- and are expected to hit the Delhi market and other regions in a couple of days. The products are currently available in
Mumbai.

The entry-level printer, PS7260 is priced at Rs 6,499 and is targeted at the home segment. The PS145 and PS7660, priced at Rs 8,999 and 10,999 respectively, are targeted at the photo enthusiasts and high-income families. The PS7960, priced at Rs 19,999, is targeted at professional companies like advertising agencies and photographic studios.

"Today Epson commands a leading marketshare in the photo printers category and I am sure in next two quarters we are going to give them a tough competition," says Rajiv. According to him, this is the right time to target the market aggressively, as it is growing at a rapid pace.

The company also plans to start an online training session for its partners to educate them about these printers. "We will launch an online training course in a week's time and then in February we will also organize an offline training session for our resellers.

This will ensure that they can address customers' query about Photosmart printers easily," adds Rajiv.
