As part of its enhanced focus on the mid-size market for storage solutions,
HP India has adopted a push-pull approach to grow the market in the country.
To address the channel community, HP has started the Storage Gold Rush and
Storage Top Gun programs for its Storage Gold partners. Says Avijit Basu,
Marketing Manager, Network Storage Solutions Organization, HP India, "Cash
incentives will be given out to customers on the basis of slabs and this is the
mainstay of the program."
Parallelly the partners also get gifts even if they are able to pass on a
genuine lead to the company.
On the customer front, to create the pull, HP has started a buy back offer on
DAT drives of 40 MB and over. "This is a value-add we are providing to the
end-customer and an incentive to upgrade", said Basu.
The discounts on the exchanged drive can vary from Rs 5,000 to Rs 22,000.
