Hubli: For the third time, Concept Exhibitors, which is headed by Anand Baid of Techstore and Manish Jain of Net-tech Info, organised a three-day IT expo at Gujarat Bhavan, Hubli, recently. Business worth more than Rs 75 lakh was expected this time from the expo from footfall of about 10,000.
Last time, the event saw about 8,000 visitors and recorded business worth Rs 50 lakh. The housed 35 stalls this time, compared to 26 stalls last time. Anand Baid said, “The theme of this expo will be getting the customers up close with technologies, such as Wi-Fi, new gadgets and thin client technology, besides exhibiting latest notebooks, PCs and other peripherals.” Baid also informed that the entire event would be streamed live on the internet on their website, www.conceptexpo.co.in.
The organizers expected visitors from various streams of professions including engineers, doctors, corporate executives, technical and managerial personnel of banks and other financial sectors, education and SOHO fraternities. Besides Hubli and Darwad, visitors were expected from Gadag, Bellari, Karwar, Belgaum, and other nearby towns. At the entrance to the expo, the organizers gave away flyers containing comprehensive details of the company, dealers, and service centers, along with a questionnaire to the visitors. The questionnaire included questions, such as brand preferences, reasons for the preferences, plans for buying notebooks/desktops, etc. There was a lucky draw prize each day and a mega lucky draw prize on the final day.
A separate stall was set at the expo for customers seeking finance options and computer furniture. Some key vendors, who participated in the expo through their partners in the region, included Canon, Wipro, Samsung, Dell, Acer, BSNL, Compaq, Epson, Quick Heal, LG, Sony Ericsson, Tata Indicom, BenQ, Zenith, and Sony Vaio. BSNL WiFi was been set up at the venue.
