IBM appoints Modi Peripherals as regional disty for laptops and PCs

IBM has appointed Modi Peripherals as its regional distributor for laptops and PCs in the northern region. The distributor will initially concentrate on distributing IBM's Seldron laptops and its entry-level notebooks. Remarks Shyam Modi, CEO Modi Peripherals, "We will concentrate more on the laptops and PC business, to start with."

Shyam informs that partners selling IBM laptops and PCs worth Rs 15 to Rs 20 lakh will be appointed as an authorized IBM dealer. He further adds that his company will soon roll out reseller incentive schemes to boost sales of IBM machines. 

IBM expects that the addition of Modi Peripherals to its distributor channel will increase its revenue by 30% to 40% in 2004-05.
