IBM has announced that it was named the Digital Content Management Company of
the Year by IT growth consulting firm Frost & Sullivan. IBM was recognized
for its comprehensive portfolio, technology leadership and commitment to open
standards.
The
digital content management market is the next generation of data management,
enabling customers to collect, manage and distribute all forms of business
information including financial statements, scanned images, e-mails, audio and
video, and link it to core business processes.
According to Frost & Sullivan, IBM’s leadership in cross brand product
integration, its ability to accommodate different market segments and business
partners and its broad view of the enterprise content management, that entails
the management of streaming video, static images, PC files, facsimiles, in
conjunction with XML, Java support, rights management and more, were also cited
as key areas that set IBM apart from the competition.
IBM’s software including Content Manager, digital rights management–Electronic
Media Management System (EMMS) and WebSphere Portal were identified as industry
leading solutions that allow customers to leverage the complete spectrum of
their data assets and share them electronically among suppliers, customers,
