IBM India has organized 'The IBM Express Mela', a customer outreach program that will be rolled out in upto 100 cities and towns across India. According
to the press release, through this program, IBM will promote along with its business partners, 'Express versions' of eServer xSeries (Intel based
servers), ThinkCentre Multimedia PCs and ThinkPad Notebooks, Software, Storage, Servers and Services that are specially designed for small and
medium businesses (SMBs), keeping in mind their limited usage and budget.
IBM along with its business partners will conduct road shows to reach out to customers and showcase these products to them. These products will be
showcased at partner showrooms, clubs, malls, etc. to enable customers to touch, feel and try out the products, through live demos. Customers will
also get a chance to participate in various promotions in addition to
availing of attractive bundling offers (like UPS, games, computer furniture, etc.) offered by IBM's business partners.
The program will be rolled out in a phased manner across the various cities and towns targeting upto 20 cities per week. IBM is reaching out to end
customers through various media like banners, posters, etc.
Said IBM India South Asia director - global mid market business M Ganesh,
"SMB is a key focus area for IBM. We have embarked on this program to reach
out to small and medium businesses, small office home office (SOHO) customers, entrepreneurs, professionals, etc., and offer them a range of
hardware, software and services offerings from IBM, which are designed, developed and priced to meet their specific IT needs at attractive price
points."
