IBM targets mid-market developers with 'ISV Advantage'

IBM India announced the 'ISV Advantage' initiative, reinforcing its commitment to deliver solutions to the SMB market. This initiative is designed to provide ISVs with technical and marketing support to help meet the needs of SMB customers.

Nucleus Software Exports, which develops after-sales business solutions for service-oriented businesses, is among the first ISVs to join the ISV Advantage program. As part of the initiative, ISVs work with IBM to port their applications to IBM's open infrastructure, with a special focus on WebSphere Express and DB2 Express running on Linux, as well as WebSphere and IBM DB2 Universal Database.

IBM India intends to broaden the scope of this program over time to include new IBM Express software, hardware and services offerings as they become available. This will further enable ISV Advantage participants to build comprehensive solutions.

ISV Advantage is part of the IBM SMB Advantage initiative, a $500 million global effort to help drive business partner profitable and effectively serve the SMB market.

ISVs can also take advantage of Value Advantage Plus (VAP), a sales incentive that rewards customer-facing business partners when they sell their value-added solutions together with IBM software and IBM eServer systems to SMB customers. ISV Advantage participants can benefit from

various other co-marketing activities.
