IBM India has launched 'xPlore Center' - a center to help business partners and independent solution vendors (ISVs) showcase their software solutions on the IBM eServer xSeries (IBM's Intel-based server) platform. This first of its kind center is located at IBM's Bandra-Kurla Complex office,
Mumbai.
Business partners can get customers across to the IBM 'xPlore Centre' to experience the latest technologies and solutions on eServer xSeries, test their applications and view simulations before they make their buying decision. IBM will also be engaging actively with the top ISVs in the country to help to showcase their latest offerings on the eServer xSeries platform to customers at the center.
This center is equipped with high-end xSeries servers like x445, blade server, management nodes, plasma screen, among other equipments and can seat up to nine people. The facilities in the center including the hardware and the operating system can be customized to suit customer requirements. The xPlore Center will also be equipped with video conferencing facility with the IBM Raleigh and Austin centers, as a part of the 'eXplore extension program'.
This will give customers an opportunity to interact live with other IBM experts worldwide, for further consultation, if required. IBM has partnered with VMWARE, Director and Steel Eye for this initiative. They will showcase their Linux and Windows 2003 based software solutions on eServer xSeries at the
centre.
Jyothi Satyanathan, Country Manager - xSeries and Intellistations, IBM India, says, “xSeries servers offer a convincing technological and cost-effective server concept that is optimally suited to our medium-sized clientele. xSeries systems offer us a fully flexible, highly available and extremely cost-saving IT basis, even for meeting increasing demands. The xPlore Center will enable IBM business partners directly showcase their solutions to their customers on the xSeries Platform, thus giving us an edge over competition.”
