IIT Kharagpur is offering a free online course on cloud computing, which can be beneficial for both students and entrepreneurs. The course is being offered on the National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning (NPTEL), a project funded by the Ministry of Education from February 15, 2021, to April 9, 2021. The exam will be conducted on April 25, 2021. The last date to enrol for this course is February 15.
This course will introduce various aspects of cloud computing, including fundamentals, management issues, security challenges and future research trends.
This course will help IT professional, students, and researchers to use and explore the cloud computing platforms. The course is free to enrol and learn from but if candidates to get a certificate, they need to register and write the proctored exam conducted by NPTEL in person at any of the designated exam centres. The exam is optional for a fee of Rs 1000/- (Rupees one thousand only). The exams are being scheduled in two sessions 9 am to 12 noon and 2 pm to 5 pm.
Prof. Soumya Kanti Ghosh, IIT Kharagpur will be the instructor throughout this course. He has more than 200 research papers in reputed journals and conference proceedings. His research interests include spatial data science, spatial web services and cloud computing.
The online registration form has to be filled by the interested candidates and the certification exam fee needs to be paid. More details will be made available when the exam registration form is published.
The criteria to get a certificate will be to have an average assignment score is equal to 25% of the average of best 6 assignments out of the total 8 assignments given in the course. The exam score should be equal to 75% of the proctored certification exam score out of 100 and the final score should equal the average assignment score + Exam score.
Candidates will only get the e-certificate of the course that will have their name, photograph and the score in the final exam with the breakup in their certificates and it will have the logos of NPTEL and IIT Kharagpur.
