The facility helps passengers plan their bus travel across Indian cities with ease. Radiant Info Systems Ltd., the Bangalore based technology solutions company has developed Busindia.com in partnership with the Central Institute of Road Transport (CIRT).

Inaugurating the portal in New Delhi, Oscar Fernandes, Union Cabinet Minister, Road Transport and Highways, said, "It gives me great pleasure to offer Busindia.com to all citizens of India and anyone across the world who wishes to plan bus travel in the country. This is an important milestone in transportation services in our country and I am proud that we have been able to achieve this. I compliment the efforts of Radiant Info and their team who have relentlessly worked over several years to integrate all state services into one single portal."

"In India trains are widely used and over 1 lakh tickets are booked through IRCTC every day. The bus users are at least six times more in number than the ones that use train services. This shows the depth and potential of connectivity bus services has in India. Now bus travel will become a whole new experience for people all over the country and even to the people from outside India. This will go a long way and will set an example to several other initiatives that bear potential to implement online services in the G2C space", added Fernandes.

Commenting on the launch of the BusIndia.com, Venu Myneni, co-founder, chairman and CEO, Radiant Info said, "It has been our dream project since the launch of the first online bus ticketing system we did in 2006. With bus services in India connecting to remote locations within the country, this service will now be useful to anyone in India and abroad to easily plan their travel within the country. We have taken bus travel in India to a different level and are proud to have redefined the bus ticket booking in India. We are thankful for the support provided by the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways and CIRT in making this happen,"

Talking about the newly launched solution, Ananda Rao, director, CIRT said, "We are pleased to have partnered with Radiant Info on developing BusIndia.com. This is truly a first-of-its-kind gateway for bus booking and makes it the largest portal in the world in its category. With plans to integrate this with the IRCTC portal and taxi booking, it will certainly create an integrated travel experience in India."
